We seek several experienced Solution Designers to join our client  working onsite in Docklands. A leading, household name in Banking, our client embraces collaboration and has solid strategic goals in place that will give you the opportunity to really prove yourself and potentially further your skills and career.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To be part of the project team, the successful applicants will have the following responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with solution architect and business analyst resources to establish and agree on the architecture and business requirements to ensure solution design thinking is considered at the early phases of each project.
  • Create SOAP (Solution On A Page) where applicable (on behalf of the solution architect)
  • Understand current state Technology and perform impact analysis
  • Determine all inclusions and exclusions for a given design
  • Produce solution options packs where design decisions required, clearly articulating options and recommendations
  • Contribute towards the construction of any required Vendor requests where applicable
  • Document the end-to-end high level solution design (design briefs) within the Digital boundary
  • Complete the definition of any interfaces between relevant parties whether being internal/external systems
  • Perform knowledge sharing of design across relevant stakeholders, clearly articulating the journey the design took
  • Manage risks and issues with the relevant project resources and impacted teams
  • Perform active/ensure across subsequent project phases to ensure design alignment and traceability
  • Consult to all required parties including, however not limited to, project team members, Business stakeholders, technical service owners, delivery teams, testing teams, and vendors.     


Goals at the completion of this project are;

  • Produce the initial architecture (where required) articulating the Digital components via the creation of a SOAP (Solution On A Page) which describes the system components and interfaces impacted for a project initiative/feature.
  • Produce the main solution design artefact(s), the Design Briefs which detail the overall end-to-end design for the digital components of the architecture and user interface of a project initiative/feature.
  • Create solution option packs if there is a need to compare possible solutions, providing a recommendation to key project stakeholders.
  • Once the solution design is approved and platform teams commence the Build, continue to support the development and implementation of the project initiative/feature via dedicated consultancy to all involved.


Requirements include;

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver above requirements.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in similar environment.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
  • Agile experience / methodology preferred.
  • Can do attitude, willingness to help others and swarm to get great features to customers.
  • Challenges the status quo, comfortable presenting new ways of thinking whilst respecting other people’s ideas.
  • Values collaboration, communication and working together.
